In the Summer term the children will be exploring the topics 'Choices' and 'Special Places', through the new Religion scheme 'Come and See'.
The units of work covered this term are taken from the following genres:
Every Tuesday children are given new weekly spellings based on a specific spelling pattern or theme. The children’s spellings are recorded in their spelling booklets. Spelling tests will then take place the following Tuesday.
All children should be taking their reading books home daily and should be returned daily so that they can be listened to over the course of the week. Reading books are changed weekly.
We will be covering a number of topics this term including: Core Skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), Measures, Data Handling and Shape and Space.
This term we will be introducing 'Big Maths' and the children will be tested weekly on their timetable facts.
This term the children will be learning to ask and answer questions about their Anifeiliad/Pets. They will be given opportunities to talk, write and read material related to Pets.
Our theme this term is 'Travel Agents'.
This project has a Geography focus and teaches children about tourism and the impact this can have on people and places. At the heart of this project children learn how to write adverts and develop additional skills in the use of persuasive and descriptive language. Children will have opportunities to explore different holiday destinations around the world and to investigate climate in different countries.
This term we will be developing Gymnastic and Dance skills using the PESS programme. This term's topics for games is handling skills and cricket. Our PE lessons are on a Thursday and Games lessons on a Friday. It is very important that all pupils bring their P.E. kit.
Please ensure that you provide your child with a water bottle and warm, water proof coat for their games session on a Friday.
Maths and Literacy homework is given each Friday and must be returned each Wednesday for marking. The children are given a Literacy homework book and maths homework book where they will be able to complete the given task.
All children need to spend 10-15 minutes readiing daily, at home.
Similarly , 10 -15 minutes should be spent recalling multiplication facts.
