Many thanks for all the wonderful pirates with their amazing costumes and props that came to school on Friday 23rd May!

Here are a few photos of the day.

At long last pleas find photos from the Ugly Bug Ball before Easter!

We had a real ball..we danced, we sang, we read our bug poems and we enjoyed yummy bug cakes (thanks to Mrs Medway) and scrummy bug cookies which we designed ourselves.all washed down with bug juice!

Our new context topic is called Wriggle and Crawl! It's very exciting! So far we have been minibeast hunting around the school grounds, we have had fun searching for minibeasts in Thompson's Park, and to Tom's garden to do some pond dipping.

The year 2 children in class 3 had lots of fun at Cog Moors water plant pond dipping and going on a minibeast hunt last Thursday.

On Thursday 27th March the year 1 children in our class are going to Cosmeston Lakes to look for minibeasts and to do some pond dipping.

Mathematical Development-we have been learning about halves and quarters and time so far..we all know how to tell the o'clock times digitally and on analogue clocks..we are working on half past!

Literacy-we are linking our literacy work with minibeasts and have read lots of information books about minibeasts plus the Very Hungry Caterpillar, of course!

To celebrate World Book Day we had an amazing story teller into school, Patrick Ryan to tell each year group different stories which he urged them to pass on..hopefully they did pass them on to you!

Religion-Our topic for Lent and Easter is called Giving. We are talking about our experiences of changing and acquiring new skills. On Ash Wednesday we went to Church and learnt about how Lent is a time for change. By the end of the topic we will be able to recognise the story of Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Numeracy: We have been learning to count in 2's, 5's and 10's.

Now we are working on 2D shapes and their properties.

Religion: We are learning about Advent and how we get ready for Christmas, and thinking about how Mary got ready for the birth of Jesus.

As well as all of this we have learnt a dance with Mrs Ingram for the Infant Christmas show (Year 1 please remember your party clothes!)

Year 2 have been learning their parts for the show-the boys and girls have costumes provided.

We look forward to entertaining you very soon!

Many thank to all the parents and children of class 3 for your support with our Fairy Tale topic of Pop up. We had a very successful  celebration of Prince Charming and Cinderella's wedding! Bene made a very handsome Prince Charming and Charley was a beautiful Cinderella! Lili and Bethan were chosen by the happy couple to sit on the top table.

Next half term, we are learning about mini this space!

Have a lovely holiday! Don't forget to do your homework.
