Some more papers to prepare for the tests in May. Please note that these tests are not sample papers from the Welsh Assembly, but will have similar content.
National Reading and Numeracy Tests for all pupils in Year 2 – Year 6 will take place between 2nd and 10th of May.
It is essential that parents make every effort for 100% attendance of their child(ren) during this time.

Our new topic - Community Explorers
This project has a geography focus and teaches children about the geographical and human features of their local community. At the heart of this project children write a range of instructions and directions using maps and first hand experience. In addition they develop skills using the language of position and direction. In the Innovate Stage children apply their skills and understanding by creating their own large scale 3D relief map of the local area. In this project the children will learn:
• How to use and make maps and plans;
• About the geographical and human features of their own communities;
• About important people who help them in their local community;
• How to follow instructions and directions;
• How to write and order instructions;
• How to use art and design skills to express their ideas creatively; • About a famous explorer or local figure of community importance.
World Book Day!
Thank you for all your fancy dress efforts. The children had a really super day and all looked amazing! Class 4 particularly enjoyed sharing stories with the PM Nursery.
Hour of code
The children have been learning basic web coding and have really enjoyed it. The website we use is https://studio.code.org/ in case any of you fancy having a go at home!
PE is a compulsory part of the school curriculum and will take place every Wednesday. Please ensure that your child brings in a PE kit that is clearly labelled with his/her name. Earrings need to be removed prior to a PE lesson for health and safety reasons.
In line with the school’s healthy eating policy, the children should be provided with a healthy snack at playtime. If you wish to order fruit for your child the cost of this is £1.50 per week, to be paid in advance.
Thank you in advance for your support this year.
