Welcome to Dosbarth 5!

Our Class Teacher is Mrs Link and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Kenny and Mr Mackie.

Mrs Nihan will teach us Science on a Tuesday afternoon.

Homework

Every Friday the children will receive:

Maths homework 

Literacy homework

Maths Abacus interactive homework

Weekly spellings

Reading book

All homework will need to be completed and handed in by the following Wednesday. 

Spellings will be handed out on a Friday and the children will then be tested the following Friday. We would be be very grateful if you can spend time reading with your child  and practising your child's spellings at home ,to ensure best possible results, in their weekly spelling tests.

Curriculum 

English

This term we will be learning about a variety of genres of writing. We will be starting this term with studying features of story writing.

Mathematics

This term we will be covering all four operations of number and covering aspects of shape and space, measure and data handling as part of topic maths. As part  of BIG MATHS, the children will complete weekly maths tests , which include testing the children on their knowledge of their multiplication facts. We would appreciate your help with encouraging your children to learn their time tables at home, to ensure best possible results . 

Religion

Our topics this  term are Building Bridges and Gods People. The children will also be exploring aspects of  Islam.

Welsh

Our topics this term are 'Ar Lan Y Mor' -at the Seaside and 'Gwyliau'- holidays.

Context

This term our topic is entitled Flight Engineers and we will be looking at a range of forces in this science based learning project.

P.E

P.E will take place on a Tuesday afternoon , whereby children will require a change of clothing. Games will take place on a Friday afternoon and children will require a change of clothing (including a waterproof jacket) and  trainers.
