Class Teacher: Mrs Walsh-Heron
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Henneberry
**IMPORTANT** Our timetable remains as it was last half term. We still have PE (Gymnastics) on a Thursday and Games on a Friday. Mrs Nihan will be teaching Science on a Monday afternoon.
This term our learning theme is MORE THAN MODS & ROCKERS with a focus on Modern British History and we are looking forward to getting stuck into the many areas of learning involved. Punctuality and attendance are still high on our list of priorities. Extra raffle tickets will continue to be awarded for full attendance each week and if we are not in, we can't win!

Your child will be issued with the following:
It would be greatly appreciated if you could help to develop independence by encouraging your son or daughter to look after this equipment and return it as required.
Homework will USUALLY be set on Fridays and return will be expected on Wednesday morning.
Spelling and Maths tests USUALLY take place on Fridays.
ONLINE MATHS HOMEWORK:
Mrs Walsh-Heron's maths group will regularly be allocated maths homework on www.activelearnprimary.co.uk. All pupils have a log in and password, and we will check if they have accessed their allocated work or not. Please note that Google Chrome may need to be downloaded for free on tablets or computers to enable these activities to be accessed. Please let Mrs Walsh-Heron know if you cannot access these activities for any reason.
PE kit is required on Thursdays for Gymnastics and on Fridays for Games (including a waterproof coat for Games). Pupils are expected to CHANGE from their uniform into kit and should not wear kit to school. If your child is unable to participate in PE please be kind enough to put the reason in writing ensuring that the note is signed and dated.
Mrs Nihan will now teach Science on Monday afternoons.
Our RE topic is 'Healing' and we will be learning about the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
Our Imaginative Learning Project (ILP) for this term is MORE THAN MODS AND ROACKERS. We will be basing the majority of our Geography, History, Science, Art, Design Technology and ICT on this ILP and we are looking forward to learning about Modern British History, Music, Fashion and Space Exploration.
In Welsh, as well as structured lessons, we are aiming to use more incidental Welsh around the classroom so please encourage your children to share any words or phrases with you at home too! Mrs Walsh-Heron has set herself a personal goal of using Welsh phrases in every lesson and knows Class 7 will be listening closely :-)
Congratulations to Jamie, Gabe and Nadia who received Pupil of the Week Certificates this half term - gwaith gwych!
Congratulations to James Usher and Angel Ezeadum on being elected as Year 5 School Councillors. We wish them a very happy and productive year in office. Class 7 reflected carefully on the nominations and election process. Well done to all who were nominated.
Congratulations to Gabriela and Sebastian on being elected to represent Year 5 on the newly formed Eco Committee. We look forward to hearing back from these meetings soon.
