Daily Routine

The first lesson of the day is Guided Group Reading, (GGR) in which pupils work in small groups to develop their reading and comprehension.

The groups follow a weekly carousel timetable moving through different activities from reading a book with the teacher, and working on a follow-up activity, to reading a book from the junior library or articles in a children’s newspaper called First News.

English follows GGR every morning until Junior Break at 10.45am. The last lesson of the morning is Maths which finishes at lunchtime at 12.15pm.

The afternoon timetable is divided into sessions for RE, Context, Science and Welsh.

Every Tuesday afternoon the pupils work in the school’s new IT suite to improve their ICT skills with Mr Davies.
