In Jesus' footsteps we learn, love and grow together to be the best that we can be!
At St. Mary's we believe that every child is made in the image of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our school is just like a family, where everyone is welcomed; everyone is loved, values, cared for and respected; where everyone is helped to achieve their very best and God is at the heart of everything we do.
Our school is a place where:
St Mary's is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic primary school situated in the Canton area of Cardiff, near to the city centre. We can be found in the middle of a street of houses with many great facilities within walking distance such as Thompson Park, Llandaff Fields, Bute Park, Cardiff City Stadium and the Principality Stadium.
We are a one form entry school for children between the ages of 3 and 11. We have a very diverse community with families from all over the world and 25 different language spoken. Our pupil admission number for Nursery is 48 places (24 morning and 24 afternoon), 30 places for Reception to Year 4 and 37 places for Year 5 and Year 6 classes.
Our school is is just a few streets away from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church where Canon David Hayman is parish priest. There is a strong link the parish of St Mary's and the school with weekly visits to the church and regular visits to the school for mass, classroom visits and events from Canon David.
Parents are very welcome in the school and we value the important role you play in the education of your children. At St. Mary's we aim to develop a strong partnership between home, the school and the parish and all parents are encouraged to become involved in the life of our school and parish.
If you are considering St Mary's as the school for your child(ren) please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a visit and walk around the school from the headteacher, Miss Russell.
